Email Mavens helps wineries sell more wine online through email marketing strategy, services, and education. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or use our products and services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Email Mavens is operated by Erica Walter Writes. You can reach us at hello@emailmavens.com or P.O. Box 2524, Walla Walla, WA. Our website is https://emailmavens.com/.

  • subscribe to our email list (the weekly “Email Party”)
  • download a free resource, such as a playbook
  • buy a course, membership, or service (PRESS SEND, Email Essentials, Digimatic Starter’s Bootcamp, Mavens On Demand, consulting, or speaking)
  • become a member
  • contact us or fill out a form

Payment information. When you buy something, payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our systems. Stripe processes your payment details under its own privacy terms.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, and referring website. We collect this through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

Information from third parties. We may receive information from the platforms we use to run our business, such as our email, membership, advertising, and analytics tools.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar tools to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and support our marketing. These include:

  • Essential and functional cookies that make the site work, including cookies set when you or our team log in to the website.
  • Analytics tools that help us understand site traffic and performance.
  • Advertising and conversion tracking, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which helps us measure and improve our ads.
  • Email tracking through our email platform, which tells us whether emails were opened or clicked.

We use a cookie consent tool that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies like the Meta Pixel, are blocked until you give consent, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on our site. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • provide and deliver our products, services, courses, and memberships
  • process payments and send receipts and account notices
  • send our newsletter and marketing emails you have opted into
  • respond to your questions and provide support
  • measure and improve our website, content, and offers
  • run and measure advertising
  • keep our site secure and meet legal and tax obligations

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as needed to run our business, including with:

  • Service providers who work on our behalf, such as our email platform (Klaviyo), membership platform (membership.io), payment processor (Stripe), website host, spam-detection service, and analytics and advertising partners (including Meta).
  • Professional advisors such as accountants and lawyers.
  • Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.

If you request a password reset for any account with us, your IP address may be included in the reset email. Some advertising and analytics partners may use cookies to collect information across sites, which certain state laws treat as “sharing” for targeted advertising. See “Your choices and rights” below.

Embedded content from other websites

Some pages and posts on our site include embedded content, such as YouTube videos. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you had visited that other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content. We do not control their practices.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our products and services, maintain your account or subscription, comply with legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

Your choices and rights

  • correct inaccurate information
  • ask us to delete it
  • opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising
